Stuart represents health care clients in corporate and regulatory matters in all stages, from formation and governance issues, operations and compliance, to potential exits. Having practiced health care law in Texas for more than twenty years, Stuart is familiar with the evolution of the Health Care Industry including the changing regulatory landscape and its various business arrangements. Stuart’s practice has evolved from primarily representing a large number of hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers that were majority owned by physicians to representing both buyers and sellers in the sale of private practices and other ancillary services to private equity backed roll-ups. Stuart regularly advises health care clients regarding compliance with the federal AntiKickback Act, the Stark Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the corresponding state laws. Stuart advises physicians and nonphysicians who wish to invest in health care related business such as labs, pharmacies, med spas and telehealth companies.
